This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cheshire Medical Center is encouraging people to schedule their next mammogram.
Mammograms are an X-ray of the breast that help detect breast cancer and other breast conditions. By getting these exams done regularly, any disease found in the breast is easier to treat and more likely to be cured.
Mammograms are recommended every one to two years for those 40 and older, depending on their specific health needs. Cheshire’s Breast Care Center uses state-of-the-art imaging equipment — including a 3D mammography machine to create a more accurate image — to serve its patients.
The Breast Care Center is now booking mammograms through January 2025, so patients are encouraged to schedule their next mammogram now. Whether you are a new or current Cheshire patient, call 603-354-6580 to book an exam.
The Cheshire Breast Care Center offers our community world-class breast care, imaging, and treatment.
The Breast Care Center is an American College of Radiology (ACR) accredited facility, as well as a Designated Comprehensive Breast Imaging Center through the ACR and a Surgical Quality Partner of the American College of Surgeons (ACS).
To achieve ACS accreditation, the Breast Care Center has to meet or exceed rigorous national standards. It recently achieved re-accreditation this past summer. It is also accredited through the National Accreditation for Breast Cancers (NAPBC), American College of Surgeons and is a certified mammography facility under the U.S. Mammography Quality and Standards Act (MQSA).
Those who are under or uninsured can see if they qualify for a free breast screening with the N.H. Department of Health and Human Services’ Breast & Cervical Cancer Program at dhhs.nh.gov/programs-services/disease-prevention/breast-cervical-cancer-program.
