What happens when I call 211 or visit The Doorway?
When you call 211 or visit The Doorway at 24 Railroad Street in Keene, you meet with a staff member who listens without judgment. Some of us have been right where you are right now.
This meeting can happen in person, over the phone, or on a computer. You’ll have space and time to tell your story and explore your needs. We offer support with compassion and acceptance, then help you take the next steps.
We can connect you to support, guidance, and community and can help you access treatment, recovery, and self-sufficiency services.
Helping you every step of the way
We can then help you choose the programs and supports that are right for you. We can help you make the phone calls, fill out the forms, and answer questions. We can help with transportation to appointments. We can help talk with your family and loved ones.
We check in with you every day to see how you’re doing. We’ll continue to call as you work your way through recovery.
The Doorway is also a place where you can simply sit and talk. We really listen to you and can be a source of ongoing support—even if you don’t want help right away. The Doorway is always open for you when you are ready.
